Domo Design x Sundling Kickén

Stockholm furniture is one of the highlights of the many great fairs in 2017. I was not able to attend this year but I still wanted to share a few of my favorite launches with you. The first one is the design collaboration Colored City by Sundling Kickén and Domo Design. Sundling Kickén have earlier styled campaign images for Domo Design and this time they decided to do a collaboration featuring their furniture in new colors.

The choice landed on the colors beige and hot zinc. They thought they were a good addition to the current color palette. The inspiration for both concepts and color choices was Småland and its beautiful nature, but also the factory with its production. With the choice of hot zinc, they wanted to get closer to the core, namely the steel material that was the starting point for the founder Johannas Haglund’s first idea of designing durable and timeless furniture. The warm beige color made them think of the earthly tones in Småland’s forests, and it is really great to match the cold, hot zinc. All the furniture has a lacquer that makes it possible to use the furniture both inside and out. My personal favorite is the hot zinc, see the full range here.
